Grade 10 History Assignment
A Historical Timeline of Music
Your assignment is to create a historical timeline of music, including all 4 major eras (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century). You must include 5 composers from each era, including dates of birth and death. You must also include 4 other points from each era. These can include other prominent figures or significant events. Please note that for the purposes of this timeline, the 20th Century composers must be kept to “art music” composers, not “popular” or “rock” composers.
You will be marked in Knowledge (36 Marks) and Communication (14 Marks). The knowledge marks will be allotted for having the correct information. The communication marks will be for setting up the timeline in a neat and suitable manner. Typing the assignment is not required but is strongly recommended, as neatness will be assessed in the Communication portion of the assessment.
